bridesmaid
Julez asked:

I was wondering because I don’t want to look like an idiot can you have both a bridesmaid and a matron of honor at your wedding?

Um, Your supposed to have a bridesmaid and a maid/matron of honor. Well that is if you choose to. You can have all bridesmaids and no maid/matron of honor, or just a maid/matron of honor.
It all depends on what you prefer.
I had a maid of honor and 3 bridesmaids.

Bridesmaids are the girls who stand up there with you on your big day, you can have as many as you want though its standard to have about the same number as groomsmen. The matron/maid of honor is the “special” one, i.e. your best friend, sister, etc. The one that stands out if you want and typically helps out with a lot of pre-wedding duties, gives a toast, etc. But its your wedding, do it however you want.

I totally agree with Jess. I had my sister as the matron of honor and my sister-in-law as my bridesmaid. I wanted to make sure that my bridesmaids were people who were going to support me for the rest of my life. One friend in particular got married and had 6-8 bridesmaids, I think she currently keeps in contact with 1 now.
